Magical PB Dog Treats

The abyss has been conquered...thanks to Magical PB Dog Treats!

A CCI volunteer puppy raiser (VPR) brought some of her homemade doggie treats to the last chapter meeting. SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) was talking with TBG (The Big Guy) about another VPR's idea of using baby food to REALLY motivate her puppy. SWMBO thought that maybe, since I've had nothing but kibble MY ENTIRE LIFE, that the Magical PB Dog Treats might just be the trick to get me up the stairs. Boy, was she right!

I got one whiff of that treat, and bunny-hopped those 13 stairs like I was born to be a kangaroo--no problem. You would have thought I'd just won the Boston Marathon or something, the way SWMBO and TBG were acting!

Anyway, I'm up and down the abyss all day and all night. Sad thing is...all of the Magical PB Dog Treats are gone!

Puppy Massage!

Turned four months old yesterday...happy birthday to me! Weighed in at 32 lbs this morning. Keep packing it on to the tune of 2lbs per week!

It finally stopped raining, so we were able to get out for a walk today. Good thing, too, 'cause I had lots o' energy to burn. We stopped to say hello to the horse in the pasture across the way. Boy, was he huge! And flighty! I don't know what he was so nervous about--like I said, I only weigh 32 lbs to his hundreds! Then, the cattle got delivered. Talk about sensory overload...sights, sounds, people, cattle, big trucks...but the big guy (TBG) asked me to sit, so I did. No biggie, really.

The big guy's old, BTW...did I mention that? So he decided he needed a massage to help him move around a bit better. Thing is, his brother owns BodyFirst in Manhattan. So, the big guy called him up and asked if I could come too...kinda like visiting his house, since he spends so much time there! I wore my cape, and I had my halti on the whole time too.

TBG went back to get his massage, and I stayed up front with Deb. I was able to practice my down, and I met some people, too. One lady was super nice and got down on the floor with me. She gave me a puppy massage! I fell instantly in love, and just snuggled up with her as long as I could. Deb said I did great! But boy, was I tired all afternoon. I actually went and curled up all by myself in the kennel. Wonder what's on tap for tomorrow?

Follow up to Ansel's earlier mention of......

In an earlier post, Ansel mentioned that there was "no rest for the wicked". Well, I'm posting this so everyone knows what he was talking about.

Seems that most nights from 6pm to 8pm (the Hyde hours) Ansel (aka Dr. Jekyll) disappears and Mr.Hyde shows up. I know that most of you think he's all cute and cuddly, but I'm here to set the record straight. Thanks to CP, we have proof of the evil Mr.Hyde!

So Much To Say...So Little Time to Post!

Let's see...what chapter is this? I think we're behind!

Went to meet all my CCI buds on Thursday night. Donner, Santiago, Rona, and Rigby are all headed for turn-in next month. I have a lot to aspire to...and look forward to! They all got a ton of presents, and we got to eat cake too (well, the humans did). I also saw Cassio and Lion. We talked business, which was kinda boring, but I didn't do my business there (if you know what I mean) so I made Deb and Mark happy. That's a good thing!

Saturday we took some time and made all these stops in town. I went to the park and met some kids. Deb explained that I was in training, and the boys were very happy to help out by riding their bikes around me in a circle. I didn't really care, although the bikes were cool-lookin'!

Then we went to the swings, and that was a little more fun--I had to work a little harder at staying calm. We said good-bye and thanks to the boys and then headed to the playground equipment where I practiced on some stairs and on the bridge. Mark and Deb thought it might be a challenge because the stairs and bridge had holes in them...but what do they know?

What I mean is, they also took me to two different places in town just to practice stairs--the post office no less--but I didn't see what the big deal was. I just hopped right up and down them like a bunny rabbit! (However, I will say that while I have mastered going down the abyss--that's what I call the stairs at home--I have yet to master going up--so maybe--just maybe--they have a point. But, don't tell them...)

Next, (I told you I had a lot to say) we saw some bikers with their helmets on. Geez! It was almost embarrassing to be with Deb...she just went right up to those nice people and asked if we could meet them! At least she explained what it was all about. They were very gracious, in any event.

Chapter 212...we made a stop at the ball field where some kids were playing an "official" game. It wasn't too crowded, and Deb and Mark thought the game might be some good socialization time. Well, I like to watch, I guess, but I was really more interested to see if I could find a wood chip on the ground. I love those things! We met some folks there too, and Deb was explaining about me again. Gosh. I hope I can live up to all those high expectations!

In conclusion...we made one last stop...because Mark couldn't resist...had to get a picture of me in front of the tank! Too cool! And, the big guy says I don't need a helmet to drive this baby!

THE END

I saw a scary monster

So while we were out walking, when Belle and CP were here, this giant scary flying creature flew out of the barn! I hope he doesn't like the taste of dog. I have been reassured by Deb that the Owl only eats rats and mice, a few other small critters too, but NOT dogs....even puppies, phew...I feel better.

We just received a picture of that Owl from CP

Taskmasters!

Geez...I thought Sunday was a day of rest. I'm still tired out from my day with Belle yesterday (did I mention how much fun that was?) but there is no rest for the wicked (look for THAT photo later--CP is sending it!)

So, I got to stay outside in my portable crate and watch Deb rake and mow Ansel-Land; then I watched Mark use the power tools again to create a safe carrying system for my crate in the "Blue Bomb" (I guess that's a car). Who knew I could make life so complicated?

THEN I took a ride out to the lake so Mark could take the Mustang out of winter hibernation. Unfortunately, Deb and I had to ride in the Blue Bomb. It would be embarrassing to ride in my crate in the Stang anyhow...I told Mark I need my own helmet so I can take it out for a spin next time Belle is over!

Walked out on the boat dock and it didn't bother me, even though it's just a long grate with water underneath. I was awfully interested in the boat noise and the wake and wanted to jump in, but then Deb distracted me with a kibble...Mark and I had our picture taken; I think we both look ready for summer! It's NAPTIME--BIGTIME!

Had a GREAT playday today!!!

I don't know how much I can type tonight, I am EXHAUSTED. One of Jeb's best friends CP came over today and brought Belle with him. She's a female black Lab around 4 yrs old. Did we have a great time playing today!

We were inside, outside, everywhere. Belle is my bestest bud yet! CP took tons of pics and I'll post some later. After they left we sat out on the front porch and watched the Prairie burn. I guess this is a big deal around here, the big guy was all excited and kept jumping up and taking pictures. I'll post a few for you now.

Me and Belle

I'm tired and really need some shuteye, I hear my kennel calling....I'm coming round the door.

I'm In a Contest! Cool!

You know, ever since I arrived, I've heard Mark and Deb go back and forth, back and forth....WWCD?, they'd say, after I licked the dishwasher or ate something off of the floor or pretended like I was a greyhound running laps around the kitchen island. I didn't get it, but really, I didn't care! I mean, what's better than PB in a Kong? Who has the time or energy to try to figure out human behavior?

But last Sunday, Deb got all excited and sat at her computer for a while..."writing Ansel's story," she said. Then, next thing I know, she's in her CCI shirt and I'm in my workin' duds and we're outside taking pictures! I mean really! The wind was blowing like 30 mph! The big guy was disgusted with the whole endeavor, but you know, he's like me...kinda laid back, usually...and finally I guess he got a shot he liked because we were able to come back inside and I got to take a nap while Deb did something called "uploading".

Well, to make this looong story short (finally), I guess I'm entered in The Great American Dog Adventure with Cesar Millan (the C in WWCD)! Here is what it says on their web site: "Enter to win a weekend getaway to San Diego, where you and your dog will join Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan and other fans for an action-packed weekend, including a 50-dog Pack Walk, a Cesar Millan LIVE event, a private book signing, dinner with Cesar, and much more!"

COOL!

See my story HERE.

Deb says she hopes ALL of the CCI volunteer puppy raisers who believe in Cesar's philosophy and use his techniques enter the contest! We ALL have inspiring stories to share!

My first puppy class

We went for a nice long ride today and attended my first puppy training class at the Manhattan Kennel Club. Boy, was that fun!! I got to meet 4 other puppies; Cody, Phinn, Dozer and Fletcher. I had some great playtime and a bunch of work too.

I'm pretty tired, but before I go, I must share this; I met another service dog, a GIANT, 4 yr old Great Pyrenees....he's my "new" friend! He and his handler were exceptionally kind and didn't mind me at all.

KSFA Pictures!

I've gone ahead and created a Picasa web album with some of the photos from K-State for All! Thanks to our photographer, Bob, for supplying them to us. We'll add more if we can, and I'll let you know when the album is updated from time to time. Thanks again to all who participated! http://picasaweb.google.com/dsellersctrs/CCIKStateForAll#

Here is my favorite photo from that day:

It's been a busy weekend

Here it is, Sunday again, had another busy day! We went into town today, met all kinds of new people, little kids, medium kids, big kids and a guy with a huge beard. They were all very nice and I tried to contain my excitement....I think I did OK. We continued walking down Main Street and come upon 4 cool Harley's and their humans. I got to sit there and watch them start em up and ride away, they're almost as cool as the big guy's Mustang!

We then went walking down to the river walk. Pretty nice place, lots of green grass, a nice little river and smooth walking paths. I had Mark take a pic of me and Deb.

Came home, had some lunch and a looooooooooong nap. Before dinner, I had my weekly "beauty" session; nails, furminated, ears cleaned and teeth brushed......I kinda like the attention!

I think it's going to be an early bedtime tonight, I'm whipped (no pun intended).

Made a new friend today

Deb and Mark's nephew, Matt stopped by today to say hi! I was very polite to Matt, deciding not to jump or bite at him. We played a little bit and he even helped prepare my lunch. After the humans finished eating, we played some more and then I had Mark take this pic of me and Matt. I look pretty good huh!! Matt makes a great lounge chair.

Shout out to my Kansas City CCI buddies!

Who knew how much fun a Wubba could be!

We just came back in (out of the wind) after playing outside with my new toy that my CCI buds in KC gave me. This is the best Kong yet. The big guy (and even Deb) was tossing it for me so I could "Fly" up & down the ramp. You'll notice that I got some major air time in the second pic. Big guy says that's what it's all about!!!!!

Strange sleeping habits

I was sitting here at the computer and happened to look over at Ansel and noticed his strange sleeping habits. Snapped up a picture before he woke up.
